Four quick takes on Perplexity’s Comet browser

I definitely didn't have "browser launch" on my Perplexity bingo card.

Here's what I think Comet will be:

  1. A browser aimed at agents, not humans.

  2. A marketplace for agents to find and compile content and commerce that fulfills human-led requests.

And as for marketing opps, here are two that I think will eventually surface:

  1. Agentic advertising - ads aimed at agents that are doing searches and other activities on behalf of humans

  2. Content and commerce API feeds that support and guide agent-led information retrieval and purchase decisions.

I’ll report back when Perplexity shares more info.
